BW Mailbox Features

So what does the thing do...

  • Checks multiple POP3 servers asynchronously:
    • No special limit to the number of servers
    • Asynchronously, what? Checks each server without regard to the status of the others. So if one server is not responding the others are still checked.
  • Alerts you to the presence of new mail:
    • Show alert dialog box
    • Play wav sound
    • Restore application main window
    • Any combination of the above three
    • Taskbar tray icon and hint indicate status
  • Saves the UID of messages so that it knows if a message is new.
  • You can select messages to be deleted from the server.
  • Low Carb
  • Encrypts the passwords if you choose to save them.
  • Configurable:
    • You can choose the status icons
    • Set a time interval for auto checking
    • Associate a mail application with each server for quick launching
  • Anti-Spam options added in version 2.0:
    • Whitelist and blacklist files, matches on sender or subject
    • Alerts can be suppressed for messages not on whitelist
    • Messages on blacklist can be automatically deleted
    • Auto-deleted messages are archived to an mbox file
  • New features for version 2.1:
    • Windows XP friendly
    • Disables automatic checking when computer is put into suspend or standby power modes.
  • New features for version 2.2:
    • Windows Vista friendly
