BW Mailbox

Windows email notification utility.

BW Mailbox is a simple little program for Windows (98 and up) that resides in the system tray and checks multiple pop3 servers. This is a freeware program.

I wrote BW Mailbox for myself and thought maybe someone else might find it handy. I wanted something that was fast and simple, but also showed me the sender and subject of the messages so that I wouldn't have to stop what I was doing to read junk. I also wanted it to keep track of which messages it had already alerted me about, so if I ignored a message it wouldn't keep alerting me every ten minutes.

The program can be configured to alert you in different ways, including an alert window and playing a sound. The message sender and subject are displayed the main window for all your accounts. BW Mailbox also allows you to delete messages from your mail server without having to download them. In addition, you can setup a list of known senders, which are displayed with a different icon. The alerts can also be setup so that they only happen for known senders.
